I got this at Whole Foods, naively assuming that it would be OK for sensitive skin because the products at Whole Foods usually work great with my skin. Not this one unfortunately. I ended up with red splotches all over my torso on the first day I tried to wear a shirt that I washed with it. I went back to Ecover laundry detergent instead.

I saw this advertised a few months ago and I’ve wanted to try it ever since. I finally got my chance to pick up a bottle at a local store and I’m not disappointed. It works very well. I’m giving it four stars because the price is kind of high, and it does have a few weird ingredients that aren’t as natural as Method likes you to think all their products are. These aren’t huge issues for me though. I wonder if they’ve patented this bottle? Because it really sets a precedent, it totally revolutionizes what a bottle of laundry detergent should be–to the point where I think we’ll start seeing Proctor & Gamble (and others) making a knock-off version soon to compete with this. I have no reason anymore to buy big clunky, drippy bottles of detergent that make a mess inside my laundry cabinet. So if P&G doesn’t want to lose me as a customer, they need to cough up a better bottle!

Four squirts is all it took–I was converted! I will never use a goopy-capped, heavy pour bottle again. I used the fresh air scent, and it smelled amazing. My clothes got clean (and I didn’t even pre-treat). Perhaps my favorite part: the bottle is so slim that I could leave it on the side of the washing machine and still open the lid to get the laundry out of the machine. I may just tear out the ugly cabinet I had installed over my washing machine to store those giant bottles…the one-handed laundry detergent is nothing short of a revolution…make that a revelation!

I’ve done 3 loads of laundry so far with this detergent. I’m very impressed! I removed food stains with it, noticed my whites were very bright and it has a nice but not at all overwhelming light scent. The best part is the ease of use. The bottle is only slightly bigger than a bottle of dish detergent. The pump makes it easy with my HE washer. I just pump 4 times into the detergent dispenser and start the machine. This tiny bottle does 50 loads. I usually use Tide HE, but I thought I would try this because I get tired of the heavy bottles and the dripping when using the cap to measure. The only reason I didn’t give this detergent 5 stars is the price. $15 is a little steep considering I can get most HE detergents for $10 or less at Wal-Mart, but I think I’ll stick with this.
